About Present Pasts

Present Pasts is a distinguished journal that originated from the Heritage Studies Section of the UCL Institute of Archaeology. Now in collaboration with the Department of Anthropology at the University of South Florida, Present Pasts has been revitalized to offer global and intercultural perspectives in the fields of Cultural Heritage Studies, Public Archaeology, and Museum Studies.

Our mission is to foster meaningful discussions on critical issues in heritage and heritage management. We explore complex topics at the intersections of war, conflict, environmental challenges, and tourism, aiming to address the diverse needs and viewpoints within the heritage sector. Through our journal, we seek to amplify the voices of a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring that their insights and experiences contribute to a more inclusive and comprehensive understanding of cultural heritage worldwide.

By bridging academic research with real-world challenges, Present Pasts serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and advocacy in the preservation and study of our shared cultural legacy.
